SWADE RECORDS ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF FARE TREDICI, THE B-SIDES BY JAY HILL
April 14, 2020 (PITTSBURGH, PA) -- Pittsburgh-based record label Swade Records proudly announces the release of the six-song digital-only EP, “fare tredici, the B sides” from Jay Hill, a veteran of the Pittsburgh rock community.
“It’s been a long journey to get these songs to see the light of day”, Founder/CEO Tony Vinski said, “Jay has been working hard on on this project for years in order to make sure it lives up to his standards as well as the highly regarded reputations of all those involved with producing and recording them.”
This album first started coming to fruition when Jay was accepted by Full Sail University’s Artist Relations director Dale Rock (former drummer of Molly Hatchet) to be one of the recording artists at the school. With a huge backlog of songs in his bag he hit the studio with Grammy-Award winning engineer Juan Covas and Full Sail engineer instructor Jason Dale and student assistant Addison Rivard. As time passed numerous Orlando musicians in the area were enlisted to help complete the recordings including Brian Morgan (bassist for Kenny G), Toronto guitarist and songwriter George Grosman, drummers Jorge Villar and Rich Elkins, guitarists Brian George and Alex Ivanov. Also appearing on the album is violinist Tanner Johnson, featured throughout the 13-song collection, along with Pittsburgh guitarist Brian Koval and Dublin-based artists: producer and guitarist Phil Campbell and vocalist Camille Blanche.
Things kicked up a notch when Brett Hestla (of Brett Hestla Productions and member of Creed, Dark New Day, and Virgo’s Merlot) stepped in to not only produce the album but to play on all of the tracks. Through word of mouth and ample self-promotion the anticipation in this album grew. Soon Jay Hill was signed to Swade Records out of Pittsburgh, PA with plans to release the songs onto two EPs starting with “fare tredici, the B sides”, a 6-song appetizer featuring “Goin’ to California” which will be co-distributed thought Curtain Call Records on April 20th of 2020. The remaining “A sides” will be released later in the year with a follow up album set to begin production in August of 2020.
The final product is a hard-hitting collection of piano-based post grunge rock. Often political, and equally politically incorrect, Jay Hill weaves tales of personal experience and social commentary backed by epic vocals and blistering guitar solos exceptionally highlighted on the first single, “Goin’ to California”
“This has been a long-time coming and I almost can’t believe it is finally here,“ said Jay, “I’ve been through a lot to get to this point and I’m proud to finally have something that’s worthwhile and available for everyone to hear.”
“fare tredici, the B sides’ will be available on Monday April 20, 2020 on most popular streaming services like Spotify, iTunes, and Deezer.
